WeLink is an AI-driven platform designed for analyzing WeChat chat data, with a strong emphasis on privacy by ensuring that all data processing occurs locally on the user's device. The tool enables users to select chat records and interact with an AI that can interpret and simulate the communication style of any contact, allowing for conversations that mimic the original participant. This AI persona feature is highlighted as a core capability, offering users the ability to revisit or continue conversations in the style of friends or relatives. WeLink also provides interactive storytelling, transforming contacts into non-player characters within a chapter-based visual novel format, complete with multiple endings and options. The platform includes features for relationship dynamics prediction, where it assesses recent communication patterns and categorizes each contact's relationship status into four tiers, such as warming up or at risk, and generates AI-powered conversation openers. Users receive daily social briefings summarizing the previous day's message volume, active contacts, and suggested people to reach out to. Additional functionalities include AI-generated images for group reports, highlights, and contact avatars, with support for local caching and compatibility with providers like OpenAI. The platform enables natural language queries in Chinese, automatically converting them to SQL for database searches, and provides in-depth contact analytics such as message rankings, chat trends, sentiment curves, and reply patterns. WeLink natively supports over 25 large language model providers, including DeepSeek, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Ollama, and others, allowing users to configure and switch between models as needed. The tool operates fully locally, with no data uploaded to external servers, and supports offline operation with Ollama. It is released as open-source software under the AGPL-3.0 license, making it available for audit and modification.
