Pycell

Pycell is an AI-powered platform designed to automate custom finance workflows without requiring ERP integrations or IT approval. Aimed at finance teams, including those in FP&A, accounting, and CFO roles, it addresses recurring tasks such as variance commentary, reconciliations, and board pack generation. The tool is intended to replace manual reporting processes with reusable, automated workflows that can be set up in minutes and re-run monthly in seconds.

Users can import financial data by uploading files exported from existing tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, and Excel, with support for both Excel and CSV formats. Pycell automatically detects financial structures, maps accounts, and allows adjustments as needed. Its visual workflow builder and guided wizard facilitate custom workflow creation, and the platform generates AI-powered commentary that is linked to source data and enriched by business context, such as seasonality or one-off events. Corrections and learned mappings are remembered, enabling the tool to improve with each run and reducing repetitive manual adjustments.

Pycell emphasizes transparency and control, featuring deterministic calculations that are traceable and defensible for auditors and boards. AI is used selectively to provide drafts and suggestions, but user approval is required before any data is exported. The platform maintains a full audit trail, and user mappings and preferences are saved automatically. Security measures include AES-256 encryption at rest, tenant-isolated data, and a policy that ensures no AI training is performed on user data.

The service is web-based, requiring no installation or configuration, and is designed to work alongside existing finance tools. Onboarding for select finance teams is available, with the platform reportedly being live in under a week and initial setup taking around five minutes. Pycell was built by a Chartered Accountant and former Finance Director, and is based in London.
