PushWard

PushWard provides an API-based platform for delivering real-time updates to iOS devices, focusing on Live Activities, Lock Screen widgets, notifications, and email. It is designed for users and developers who want to push live information to iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches from any service capable of making HTTP requests, such as Grafana alerts, Home Assistant, GitHub Actions, and other webhook-compatible tools. The platform allows events sent via HTTP to instantly update Live Activities on iOS devices without requiring refreshes or polling.

The tool supports a range of notification types, including standard iOS push notifications with rich layouts, image attachments, action buttons, custom sender icons, and chat bubble styles. Live Activities can be customized with progress bars, labels, and icons, and users can generate share codes to sync activities in real time across multiple iPhones. Widgets can display live data on both Home and Lock Screens, and can be made interactive by allowing taps to trigger webhooks or launch other apps. Email notifications are also supported, enabling users to send Markdown-formatted messages to verified addresses as a searchable record.

PushWard offers integration pathways such as a webhook relay, where services can point their webhook URLs to PushWard for automatic transformation into Live Activities. It also provides self-hosted Docker container bridges for services that require polling or direct API access, and a Home Assistant integration via HACS to track entities as Live Activities. The companion app extends functionality to Apple Watch, syncing activities, notifications, and widgets, and providing notification history and watch face complications. On iPad, the app features a two-pane layout for managing activities and notifications side by side, with support for both portrait and landscape orientations.

Privacy is emphasized, with no analytics, tracking, or data sales. Users sign in with Apple, and no email or password is required. API tokens are stored as SHA-256 hashes, and activities are automatically cleaned up based on configurable time-to-live settings. All data is encrypted in transit, and accounts can be deleted instantly from within the app.

PushWard offers a free tier with limited notifications and devices, as well as annual and lifetime paid plans. The free plan includes up to 500 push notifications and 250 Live Activity updates per month, three registered devices, and access to all templates and the REST API. Paid plans offer unlimited notifications, more devices, activity sharing, and family options.
