Academic Program

The Academic & Non-Profit Program for Proxylity UDP Gateway provides free access to a production-grade UDP networking infrastructure for students, educators, and qualifying non-profit organizations. Designed to support learning, teaching, and research in network programming, the program enables participants to work with real infrastructure rather than limited sandboxes, making it suitable for coursework, academic projects, and mission-driven non-profit workloads.

Participants in the program receive the full feature set available to commercial users, including a monthly packet allowance, active listeners, access to over 14 AWS integrations, WireGuard encryption, support for CloudFormation and other infrastructure-as-code tools, multi-region deployment, and CloudWatch metrics and logs. Email support is included for all, and instructors can request curriculum consultation. The program durations are tailored to each group: 12 months for students, per semester or year for instructors, and annual ongoing access for non-profits, with allowances resetting each month. Usage beyond the included packet allowance is paused rather than billed, ensuring no unexpected charges from Proxylity, though standard AWS service charges may still apply for associated services.

The program is open to individual students enrolled in accredited institutions, instructors and researchers conducting academic work, and registered non-profit organizations with a constructive public mission. Eligibility requirements include academic or institutional affiliation for students and instructors, and appropriate nonprofit status for organizations. Applications are reviewed within three to five business days, and approved participants receive a fee waiver code to use during AWS Marketplace subscription.

Proxylity UDP Gateway is integrated via CloudFormation into participants' own AWS accounts, allowing for individual deployments without shared credentials. It is suitable for a range of academic and research projects, including networking courses, protocol design, distributed systems, IoT and sensor projects, cloud architecture research, and game backend prototypes. The platform offers a Quick Start Guide, public example repositories, and CloudWatch dashboards for immediate feedback, supporting both independent learning and structured coursework.
