Pause

Pause is an AI operating system designed for developers to streamline the process of turning messages from email, Discord, and other connected apps into actionable tasks. The platform creates a task from each message, allowing users to assign these tasks to an AI agent, a human, or complete them personally. Its core function is to ensure that important messages are not overlooked by retroactively scanning up to 30 days of emails and messages and spawning an agent for each one.

Within each task, Pause provides the ability to browse the web and interact with large language models, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, to assist in completing tasks. Users must input their own API keys for these AI services, and the application emphasizes privacy by ensuring that all data runs through the user's own infrastructure, with no data collection, servers, or SaaS subscriptions involved on the provider's end.

Pause is distributed as a command-line interface, installable via npm. The product is currently free, with the developers stating that the core offering will always remain free.
