Viaduct

magicelklabs.com·Developer Tools

Viaduct converts Chrome extensions into native Safari Web Extensions. It addresses the challenge of running extensions built for Chrome directly within Safari without additional development effort.

The application accepts several input formats. Users can provide a .zip file, a .crx file, an unpacked folder, or a Chrome Web Store link. It rebuilds the extension as a native Safari Web Extension and handles signing. The process completes with installation into Safari, where the extension runs in Safari's own engine rather than a separate Chromium process. Support covers both Manifest V2 and V3 extensions. When browsing the Chrome Web Store from Safari, the standard "Add to Chrome" button is replaced with an equivalent that triggers Viaduct to fetch, convert, sign, and install the extension.

Viaduct is delivered as a downloadable macOS desktop application. The workflow consists of three steps: dropping the input, automatic conversion and signing that the user can observe live, and immediate availability inside Safari. This approach removes the conventional requirement to use Xcode or Apple's command-line tools for packaging and signing.

The tool is offered with a free version and a paid Pro option.
