Orlo

Orlo is a native download manager designed specifically for macOS, offering accelerated file downloads through multi-connection streaming. The application splits each file into up to 32 parallel streams, resulting in download speeds that can significantly surpass those of standard web browsers. Orlo supports both Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or later and is distributed as a notarized app that requires no account or setup wizard.

Batch link addition is supported, allowing users to paste and filter multiple URLs for simultaneous downloading.

Privacy and accessibility are emphasized in Orlo’s design. The application collects no telemetry, requires no user accounts, and ensures that all user data remains on the local machine. It is built using SwiftUI with light and dark mode support and offers VoiceOver accessibility. Orlo includes a password manager that saves site logins to the macOS Keychain, unlocks with Touch ID, and provides search, filter, and bulk-delete options. The service is offered free of charge, with no malware, adware, or tracking.
