Nage AI introduces an architecture, SEDIM, designed to provide source attribution for AI-generated outputs. The platform addresses three core challenges in large language models: the inability to trace answers back to their data sources, the risk of catastrophic forgetting during continuous learning, and the lack of knowledge isolation when fine-tuning models for specific domains. SEDIM’s design ensures that every output can be traced to its knowledge origin, making the lineage of information transparent and permanent.
The architecture is structured with several key components. FACIES acts as a frozen foundation, serving as an immutable base model that never changes, while new knowledge accumulates as additional layers called VARVEs. Each VARVE represents a domain-specific, low-rank stratum that is independently versioned and composable, allowing for knowledge to be added without retraining or overwriting previous information. Intelligent routing, termed STRIA, directs queries to the appropriate VARVE with attention-level precision. STEMMA is responsible for source attribution, ensuring every output carries its knowledge lineage by design.
Nage AI offers a platform built on SEDIM with several tools: VARVE Studio enables users to upload documents, connect sources, and create domain-specific knowledge layers; Agent Studio allows the construction of agents that utilize STEMMA-powered attribution for decisions and outputs; and the PEC Console provides operational control, including API keys, analytics, inference modes, and A/B testing. The platform features an API with multiple tiers (SURFACE, DRIFT, VEIN, LODE, CORE) and supports deployment on edge and mobile devices, with performance metrics indicating real 8B-parameter quality running natively on devices like iPhones without cloud dependency.
The service is positioned for users needing regulatory compliance, such as traceability required by the EU AI Act and US EO 14110, as well as those managing enterprise knowledge across multiple sources. Research benchmarks highlight SEDIM’s convergence speed, attribution accuracy, and open-source tools available on GitHub and HuggingFace. Early access to the Nage Platform is open to a limited number of users, offering API access and platform tools.
