Monitor OTRS is a browser extension designed for technical support analysts, specifically those working in N2 and N3 roles who manage OTRS ticket queues. The tool addresses the challenge of constantly having to manually refresh the OTRS interface to check for new tickets, client responses, or impending SLA deadlines, which can lead to missed urgent issues and divided attention.

The extension provides real-time notifications directly within the browser, alerting users with both sound and visual cues when there are new tickets, client responses, or SLA violations in their OTRS instance. This eliminates the need to continually monitor or reload the queue screen, allowing analysts to focus on their current tasks without risking missed updates. An additional feature includes escalation alerts: if a notification remains unviewed, the extension can reopen and update the OTRS browser tab, serving as a safeguard against distraction or oversight.

Monitor OTRS is described as a read-only, zero trust, and zero telemetry solution, emphasizing privacy and security by not altering the OTRS system itself or collecting user data. The extension is intended for deployment on major browsers, with versions for Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox indicated as forthcoming.
