Microtango

Microtango is a specialized software platform designed for dance school administration, developed with direct input from professional dance instructors. Its primary focus is to simplify and centralize the management of dance school operations, offering a suite of tools tailored to the needs of dance school owners and staff.

The platform provides a range of features for managing customer data, course scheduling, attendance tracking, and financial processes. In the customer management module, users can create, edit, and delete records, assign courses, record payments, filter and print data, scan contracts, and attach images. Microtango includes an integrated word processor, allowing correspondence with participants to be written and stored within each profile, including a record of when emails or letters were sent. Documents such as completed contracts can also be scanned and attached to customer files for easy retrieval.

Attendance can be recorded directly within Microtango, through a dedicated mobile app, or by using an integrated digital ID system. The app allows staff to view daily course schedules, record attendance, and access participant details such as phone numbers and birthdays. Photos of customers can be taken directly from the app. The digital ID feature enables schools to send customers a link via email to create a digital pass on their smartphones, which includes a QR code for attendance tracking. This system is built into Microtango, eliminating the need for third-party tools.

Course management enables the creation and assignment of courses, forming the foundation for the built-in scheduling tool. The schedule can display courses by week, day, or custom timeframes, and allows grouping by room or instructor. Financial management features include the ability to generate direct debits, record payments, print journals, and create reminders for outstanding balances. Data analysis is supported through a statistics module, which provides graphical representations of course, participant, and financial data.

Microtango supports integration with school websites, allowing course listings to be displayed online and online registrations to be imported directly into the software without requiring database integration on the website. The software can be used locally, ensuring sensitive customer data remains on the user's own computer, though cloud storage is available for those who wish to access the database from multiple locations.
