MapComplete

MapComplete is an Android application that provides thematic, editable maps built on data from OpenStreetMap. The app offers more than 70 distinct maps, each focused on a particular topic such as restaurants, shops, healthcare providers, vending machines, drinking water fountains, public bookcases, public toilets, defibrillators, bicycle pumps and shops, artworks, benches, waste containers, pubs, playgrounds, charging stations, surveillance cameras, advertisement billboards, climbing gyms, schools, memorials, hackerspaces, and ski pistes. Each map displays features relevant to its theme, allowing users to explore detailed information about local amenities and points of interest.

When a user selects an item on a map, the app presents all available information in a user-friendly format. If certain details are missing, users can contribute by answering questions, with the new information being saved directly to OpenStreetMap. This editing capability requires a free account. reviews, a libre and open data review project. The app aggregates images from sources such as Panoramax, Wikipedia, and Mapillary, and users can contribute new images directly to Panoramax from within the app.

MapComplete is distributed as a free and open source application through F-Droid.
