Magenta Arcade II

Magenta Arcade II is a finger-based shooter game set in the vibrant city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Players take on the role of a mythological deity wronged by a family of eccentric scientists, engaging in battles against hordes of robots and gadgets. The game is specifically designed for touch-based mobile devices, where the player’s finger becomes a direct extension of their in-game presence, both for gameplay and narrative immersion.

Key features include the ability to shoot projectiles and dodge attacks by interacting with the touchscreen, as well as the opportunity to build and customize strategies using various weapons, power-ups, and upgrades available both during and outside of levels. The game offers intense boss battles against uniquely characterized villains, score challenges that reward high combos, and a vibrant 3D visual style. An original soundtrack composed by Thommaz Kauffmann accompanies the action, further enhancing the game’s atmosphere.

Magenta Arcade II is developed using the Godot Engine and supports English, Portuguese, and Spanish languages. The project is funded by the Paulo Gustavo Law (LC 195/2022) through the “BH nas Telas – Paulo Gustavo Edition” program, and is promoted by the Municipal Department of Culture of Belo Horizonte. The development team includes João Guilherme Brant, Lucas Mattos, Thommaz Kauffmann, Laila Alves, Juliendrios Oliveira, and Tavos Mata Machado.

The game is scheduled for release in 2025. It is positioned as an innovative entry in the shoot 'em up genre, emphasizing touch-based interaction and narrative integration with its mobile platform.
