Miller Tools

Miller Tools offers a suite of offline developer utilities designed for use on Mac and Windows systems. The platform addresses the need for secure, local handling of sensitive data by ensuring that all operations occur on the user's machine, with no data ever leaving the device. This approach enables developers to safely work with business or client information without relying on online services or third-party websites.

The toolkit includes a variety of encoding and decoding tools, such as those for Base64, JWT, and JSON, as well as utilities for HTML and CSS Unicode characters and URI components. Additional features encompass a JWT decoder that processes tokens locally, a color converter with support for Tailwind color palettes and harmonious color selection, and string manipulation tools like case converters and internationalization-aware string sorters. The platform also provides time wrangling utilities for parsing and mapping timestamps in both local and UTC formats, as well as git repository tools that can parse URLs, generate repository links aware of local SSH aliases, and summarize repositories to verify consistent user names across different SSH aliases.

Miller Tools integrates local AI capabilities, supporting models from LM Studio, and allows users to bring their own AI API keys for cloud-based services such as OpenAI or Google, with the assurance that no data is transmitted to Miller servers. The tools are delivered as Electron applications for both Mac (supporting Apple Silicon and Intel architectures) and Windows (Intel x64 and ARM64). A universal license permits use across all Mac and Windows machines owned by the purchaser.

Licensing for Miller Tools follows a buy-once, use-forever model, with a lifetime license that includes one year of free updates. The source code is shared and available for purchasers to view and contribute to on GitHub. A free trial is available for download, and licensing is managed via Gumroad. The tool is developed by Darragh O'Riordan.
