LanTopoLog is a network mapping application designed for discovering, visualizing, and monitoring the physical topology of computer networks. It is intended for users who need to understand and manage the structure and health of their network infrastructure. The tool automatically discovers physical network topology using SNMP and generates detailed, searchable maps to help isolate connectivity failures quickly.

Among its capabilities, LanTopoLog provides an editable network diagram and includes a Switch Port Mapper that associates physical switch ports with the MAC and IP addresses of connected devices. It displays information such as VLAN assignments, port status, current port speeds, and LACP ports. The application can detect new devices on the network, notify users of topology changes (including Spanning Tree events), and generate alarms and notifications for network failures or when traffic thresholds are exceeded. Alerts can be sent via email, Telegram, or to a Syslog server. For ongoing monitoring, it offers ping monitoring, network traffic monitoring, and tracks invalid or dropped packets using SNMP metrics like ifInErrors, ifOutErrors, ifInDiscards, and ifOutDiscards.

LanTopoLog supports importing custom data into the map and provides an icon context menu for custom commands. It uses WMI queries to gather computer inventory information and can resolve IP addresses to names. net formats. The application is accessible through a web browser from anywhere within the network, and it operates on both Windows and Linux platforms. It is portable, does not write to the system registry or system folders, and does not send any data externally, emphasizing user privacy and safety.
