Ctrl-Trade

Ctrl-Trade is an options trading platform designed to guide beginners through the process of trading options, from identifying opportunities to managing positions and tracking portfolio performance. The tool provides a step-by-step workflow that aims to build user confidence, even for those new to options trading. It offers features such as an opportunity detection scanner, which scans a user's watchlist for statistically valid entry points, helping users act based on data rather than instinct.

The platform includes a live market overview dashboard that displays all positions at a glance, along with a diversification chart that breaks down exposure by underlying asset and expiration date. Ctrl-Trade tracks the full lifecycle of every options contract, logging details like premium, strike, expiration, and fees. Contracts are managed through various states—open, closed, expired, assigned, or rolled—with a complete history accessible at any time. The tool automatically adjusts cost basis when assignments occur, ensuring that users always have an accurate break-even calculation based on all collected premiums, rather than just the broker's entry price. Live portfolio profit and loss (P&L) is updated with real-time prices against this true adjusted basis, allowing users to monitor both unrealized and realized gains.

For those who require more advanced insights, Ctrl-Trade offers an option to enable additional features such as Greeks, volatility metrics, and other trading data. Users can also manage multiple isolated portfolios, maintain watchlists and shortlists, and use a trade journal. The platform is currently under active development, with upcoming features including pre-validation rules for trade discipline, roll alerts, repair mode, company metrics, margin mode, and direct broker import.

Ctrl-Trade is delivered as a web-based service and is currently in beta, available by joining a waitlist. It offers educational content, including a free eight-part email course for beginners.
