Indic Keyboard

Indic Keyboard is an Android application designed for users who wish to type in Indic and Indian languages on their mobile devices. The tool addresses the need for multilingual typing by enabling users to compose messages, emails, and other text in their preferred Indian languages as well as English. It is positioned as a privacy-aware and versatile keyboard, and is noted as a MOSS Award-winning project.

The application supports a total of 23 languages, including Assamese, Arabic, Bengali, Burmese, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Manipuri (Methei), Maithili, Marathi, Mon, Nepali, and Oriya, among others. For each language, the tool offers a variety of keyboard layouts—amounting to 60 in total—such as Inscript, Phonetic, Transliteration, Probhat, Avro, Compact, and others. This range of options allows users to select the most familiar or convenient input method for their language. Additionally, Indic Keyboard includes features such as spell checking, word prediction, and transliteration, enhancing the typing experience and making it easier to write accurately and efficiently in multiple languages.

The keyboard can be used anywhere on an Android device where text input is required, serving as a replacement or supplement to the standard English keyboard. Delivery is through Android, and users can obtain the application via F-Droid, Google Play Store, or direct download.
