The platform is designed as a deterministic market-signal infrastructure, focusing on the precise and rapid identification of user-defined patterns within exchange data. Its core capability is to detect these sequences on every individual trade, rather than relying on aggregated data such as one-minute candles or indicator crossovers.

Users interact with Ictora by defining custom alphabets and patterns, which are compiled into finite automata. This approach allows for new patterns and alphabets to be added live, with the system ensuring that each definition is validated and compiled before execution. 7 microseconds in-process and can process up to 440,000 trades per second on a single core, with a tick-to-detection class latency of 10 milliseconds in-region. Ictora emphasizes deterministic operation, guaranteeing that the same input will always produce the same output, and invalid pattern definitions are rejected at the time of writing by the same compiler used by the detection engine.

When a user-defined pattern is matched, Ictora delivers alerts as HMAC-SHA256-signed webhooks, which include both the exchange event time and the detection time. The system reports latency for each event individually, ensuring transparency and verifiability, and explicitly avoids blending the clocks for event and detection times. This setup is intended for integration into users' own systems, supporting workflows that require cryptographically verifiable and low-latency alerts based on live market activity.
