Givio Cards offers a cashless gifting solution for events such as weddings and birthdays by providing physical event cards embedded with unique QR codes. This approach turns a traditional greeting card into a means for guests to give monetary gifts without the need for cash. The process is designed for both givers and recipients who prefer a secure, digital alternative to conventional gift-giving methods.

Each Givio Card contains a scannable QR code inside. Guests scan the QR code, enter their name and a note, choose a gift amount, and pay securely through Stripe. The recipient later scans the same QR code to claim their funds, with payouts available via Venmo or direct bank transfer. The checkout and claim process is mobile-friendly and does not require recipients to download an app or create an account, making it accessible and straightforward.

Payments are processed exclusively by Stripe, ensuring that card details are never stored on Givio servers. Only the information necessary to link each card to its corresponding gift and payout is retained. Guests pay for the physical card itself and a small service fee when sending a gift, while recipients keep the full gift amount if they use a free transfer method. Funds remain linked to the card until a payout request is made or for up to one year after the card is loaded and processed.
