GetBolla

GetBolla is a sensor and companion app designed for home kombucha brewers who want to take the guesswork out of fermentation. The tool monitors the acidity and temperature of kombucha continuously by being submerged in the brewing jar alongside the SCOBY. Its primary function is to notify users precisely when their kombucha is ready to bottle, helping to avoid common issues such as over-fermentation (resulting in overly sour kombucha) or under-fermentation (leading to a flat, sweet drink).

The system consists of a physical GetBolla sensor that connects to home WiFi and a free app. The sensor tracks pH and temperature every five minutes and displays the current fermentation stage on a small built-in screen. Users set up the device by plugging it in, connecting it to WiFi through the app, and starting a new batch. Once fermentation begins, GetBolla operates independently, sending a notification to the user's phone when the kombucha hits the optimal acidity zone. The app provides clear status updates such as "Almost ready," "Ready," or "In progress," eliminating the need for users to interpret raw data or manually check the brew.

GetBolla is intended for use with standard jars and crocks that are compatible with the sensor's design and is suitable for room-temperature fermentation. The app also offers small tips for improving fermentation and maintains a history of batches. For new users, a starter kit is available, which includes the GetBolla sensor, a 3-liter jar, a live SCOBY, and premium loose-leaf tea.

There is no subscription required to use GetBolla, and the app is free to download. The product is offered at a launch price and is available in limited quantities, with a waitlist for those interested in early access.
