LitePic

LitePic is a self-hosted, open source PHP-based image hosting platform designed for users seeking a lightweight and private solution for managing and sharing images. 0+ server, and is distributed under the MIT license. The tool is suitable for website administrators, developers, or anyone looking to deploy their own image bed without relying on third-party services or accounts.

Core features of LitePic include multiple image upload methods such as click, drag-and-drop, and paste, with support for multi-file queues and a unified progress bar. The platform automatically converts images to WebP or AVIF formats based on user preference, utilizing Imagick as the preferred processing engine, with fallback to GD if necessary. Users can select from three levels of backend compression—TinyPNG, GD, or ImageMagick—and formats that cannot be compressed are automatically skipped to avoid upload delays. LitePic also offers both text and image watermarking, with support for transparent PNGs and system font fallbacks, and provides access control via anti-leech protections and passkey authentication, including WebAuthn login support.

The platform supports local storage by default, with optional integration for R2 or S3 remote storage in either backup or cloud hosting modes. Image access statistics are tracked and presented in overview pages featuring charts and tables. Users can organize images into albums, set album visibility (public, private, password-protected, or hidden), and share full-screen photo wall pages with lightbox browsing. Telegram bot integration allows users to upload images, manage albums, and retrieve share links directly from chat. Asynchronous queue processing is used for tasks such as thumbnail creation, compression, format conversion, watermarking, and remote synchronization, ensuring smooth uploads and efficient resource usage.

LitePic is compatible with major web servers including Apache, Nginx, Caddy, OpenResty, and LiteSpeed. Deployment involves downloading, extracting, and pointing the server root to the LitePic directory, with an installation wizard guiding initial setup and configuration. Database hot backup, scheduled backup to R2, and one-click restore are also supported. The project is open source and available for download or via GitHub.
