GeekLink

geeklink.dev·Video editing

GeekLink is a desktop application for macOS designed to generate, edit, and translate subtitles using AI-driven features. The tool addresses the challenge of extracting subtitles from videos, whether the subtitles are burned into the video frames or only present as spoken audio. Users can extract hardcoded subtitles using OCR, transcribe speech directly into time-synced subtitles, and translate subtitles into over 40 languages, all processed locally on Apple Silicon Macs.

Key features of GeekLink include the ability to draw a selection box over video frames to extract visible, burned-in subtitles with frame-accurate timing, even handling colored text, outlines, and busy backgrounds while ignoring logos and watermarks. For videos without embedded captions, it offers on-device speech recognition to generate editable subtitle tracks, with optional high-precision alignment to ensure accurate timing. The tool applies AI-powered line-breaking so subtitles read naturally, and it highlights only the lines that need review, streamlining the editing process. Batch processing allows users to handle multiple videos at once, making it suitable for workflows involving entire seasons or large sets of content.

GeekLink supports exporting subtitles as SRT or ASS files, or rendering styled subtitles directly onto video exports. The application operates fully locally for speech recognition and OCR, ensuring that user footage remains on the device. A built-in subtitle editor is included, and translation features leverage AI models such as Claude, GPT-4o, and DeepSeek. The translation function offers bilingual output and maintains natural line breaks, with the ability to use either built-in models or a user's own API key for translation.

0 or later on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) devices, with a Windows version planned. GeekLink offers a free tier that includes speech recognition, OCR, subtitle editing, batch processing, and export, with no sign-up or login required. Pro features, such as advanced AI translation and unbranded exports, are available via a flat-fee upgrade, with monthly, annual, and lifetime plans offered. A 7-day free trial of Pro features is provided upon first installation, and additional AI translation tokens can be purchased as needed. Team and enterprise licensing options are also available.
