DreamWave is a mobile application developed by Naresh Singh that focuses on providing sleep-related insights and features while prioritizing user privacy. The app operates entirely on the user's device, with no external data collection, account creation, backend services, third-party analytics, or advertising. Its design ensures that all personal data remains local, and users have full control over their information.

The application utilizes Apple HealthKit to read sleep, heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV) data, which is used exclusively to generate insights within the app. Health data is accessed in a read-only manner, never stored outside the device, and not shared with any third parties. DreamWave also employs the device's microphone for snore detection, with all audio processing conducted on-device. Audio clips are stored locally within the app sandbox and are deleted when the user chooses to remove them.

For users who wish to maintain a dream journal, DreamWave leverages Apple's on-device Speech framework to transcribe spoken entries into text. These transcripts, like other data, are stored locally and deleted at the user's discretion. The app reads motion activity in real time to detect periods of stillness, prompting bedtime tracking, but does not persist or transmit motion data. All data is stored locally using SwiftData, with optional iCloud backup managed by the user's device settings. Local notifications may be used to provide sleep insights and reminders, without involving any data sharing.

DreamWave does not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties, and users retain full control, with the ability to delete app data at any time or by uninstalling the application. The privacy policy notes that any updates will be reflected with a new "Last updated" date, and provides a contact email for questions.
