Drawers is a productivity tool for macOS designed to organize work around projects rather than individual applications or files. " Each drawer provides a separate dock, menu bar identity, and set of windows, allowing users to keep the context of each project isolated and easily accessible. Switching between projects becomes a matter of swiping with three fingers or selecting from the menu bar, with Drawers managing macOS spaces automatically to keep each project distinct.

The platform enables users to pin only the specific resources relevant to a project—such as a particular file, a single Slack channel, or selected websites—rather than entire applications or folders. This targeted approach reduces the cognitive load and surface area for distraction, ensuring that when a project is opened, all necessary materials are immediately available without unrelated content. For example, opening Chrome or Slack within different drawers results in separate windows for each project, preventing the interleaving of tabs or conversations across projects—an issue with standard macOS Spaces.

It operates as a layer on top of macOS, coordinating existing Spaces and menu bar APIs without requiring users to change their current files, applications, or shortcuts. The tool is local-first, meaning all data and configurations remain on the user's Mac, with no account creation, server sync, or file copying involved. It stores only pointers to existing resources and collects minimal anonymous usage statistics, with an opt-out available in settings.
