Dualmark

Dualmark provides infrastructure for marketing websites to serve markdown versions—referred to as "markdown twins"—of their web pages, enabling AI agents to access content in a format optimized for machine readability. The tool addresses the challenge where traditional web content ranks well on search engines but is not easily consumed or cited by AI agents, positioning the issue as one of infrastructure rather than content quality.

Dualmark operates by generating a markdown representation of each web page, accessible at the same URL but delivered in markdown format when requested by AI agents or specific HTTP headers. This approach ensures that browsers continue to receive standard HTML, while AI crawlers and bots receive clean markdown stripped of navigation, JavaScript, and banners. The markdown twin is selected at the edge using HTTP content negotiation or by detecting known AI crawlers by User-Agent, supporting at least 19 common AI bots. The tool also provides a conformance scoring system, allowing users to verify their site's compliance with the markdown twin specification either through a CLI command or a web-based playground, with detailed breakdowns of failures and suggestions for improvement.

Integration into development workflows is supported through a command-line interface that can be added to continuous integration pipelines, such as GitHub Actions. This enables automated checking of markdown twin conformance for every pull request, with the ability to block merges if a page falls below a specified threshold. js, Cloudflare Workers, SvelteKit, Nuxt, Deno Deploy, Vercel Edge Middleware, Netlify Edge Functions, and Fastly Compute, with additional support for Remix/React Router planned. Each adapter provides framework-specific methods for generating markdown endpoints and integrating conformance checks.
