Complexity is a browser extension designed to enhance the user experience of Perplexity.ai by introducing a suite of quality-of-life improvements and customization options. Aimed at users who rely on Perplexity for daily workflows or personal projects, it streamlines interactions and adds new functionality to the platform.

With Complexity, users can change models and focus modes directly within a thread, removing the need to navigate to separate settings pages. The extension allows interaction with Spaces from the homepage, making it easier to start new threads without leaving the main interface. For navigating lengthy conversations, it introduces a thread table of contents, enabling quick access to different parts of a discussion. A sticky toolbar offers immediate access to message actions such as rewriting, editing, and copying messages, with the option to include or exclude links.

For coding tasks, Complexity provides a custom Markdown block that disables line wrapping by default and includes syntax highlighting for languages not natively supported by Perplexity. Users can export entire threads or individual messages in markdown format, again with the choice to include or omit links. Customization features include an ADHD-friendly color scheme, as well as options to define accent colors and fonts. An advanced prompt library, intended to help users create, manage, and share prompts, is currently in development.

The extension is available through the Chrome Web Store and Mozilla Add-ons, making it accessible to users of compatible browsers. Complexity is created and maintained by an individual developer known as pnd280. The tool is not an official extension from Perplexity.ai.
