CITAQ is a verification infrastructure platform designed for agentic commerce, addressing the challenge of unverifiable product claims in online shopping environments. Its primary focus is to make product claims inspectable and machine-readable, ensuring that AI systems and shopping agents can reliably interpret and validate product information before making recommendations or decisions. The platform is being developed to connect product claims to structured evidence and machine-readable verification records.
The first live module of CITAQ, called the Citation Readiness Score (CRS), is available for Shopify merchants. CRS evaluates the readiness of product data by identifying gaps that must be addressed before claims can be verified. It diagnoses whether product information is consistently identifiable, retrievable, and structurally understandable by machine systems, providing per-product analysis and ranking the most impactful corrections. CRS never edits store data or invents facts; it highlights what is missing or conflicting, focusing on foundational data quality. Merchants can use CRS to scan individual product URLs from Shopify, Amazon, D2C, or marketplace storefronts, checking over 40 AI-readability signals in under a minute. A Shopify catalog scanner is also available, offering a readiness score for every product in a merchant's catalog.
CITAQ's broader platform, currently in development, is structured around three core capabilities: converting unstructured product data into machine-readable formats, extracting and classifying individual claims with a per-claim taxonomy, and verifying each claim against submitted evidence to produce machine-readable verdicts. The verification process is designed to output cryptographically bound verdicts such as APPROVE, SUPPRESS, REQUIRE_EVIDENCE, or DOWNGRADE for each claim. The platform aims to fill a gap in the e-commerce ecosystem by enabling product claims to be independently inspected and verified by AI agents.
Access to CRS includes a 21-day free trial for up to 25 products, requiring no credit card. The platform is positioned for merchants, particularly those using Shopify, and supports both individual product scans and catalog-wide assessments. The full CITAQ verification platform and additional features are in early access or development stages.
CITAQ sits in PulseGate's Other infrastructure category. It focuses on verifying product claims and creating machine-readable records for AI shopping agents and merchants. It is built as a B2B product for E-commerce merchants and AI agent developers. It runs on the web.
CITAQ first shipped in 2026. PulseGate's similarity index finds few close equivalents — CITAQ occupies a relatively distinct niche. Key capabilities include claim verification, machine-readable records, and shopify catalog scanner. CITAQ is currently in beta.
