YGGDRA

YGGDRA is a free, local-first desktop application designed to help individuals map and explore their personal and professional lives through an interactive knowledge tree. It enables users to visually organize aspects such as psychology, work, family, childhood, and health, creating a living representation of their experiences and identity. The platform features an integrated AI component, referred to as the "Gardener," which reads the user's knowledge tree, asks targeted questions, and synthesizes patterns across different areas, facilitating deeper self-reflection and insight. All data remains on the user's device, ensuring privacy, as there are no accounts, cloud sync, or telemetry; users provide their own API key, and no personal information is sent to external servers.

YGGDRA supports both desktop and browser-based usage, with the desktop version storing data in a local database and the browser version utilizing local storage (IndexedDB). The application does not currently offer automatic sync between devices, but users can manually export their data as a JSON file and import it on another device. The platform emphasizes absolute privacy and gives users full control over their information, with only anonymous, opt-in usage counters collected, which can be disabled. Installing the browser version as a Progressive Web App (PWA) can make storage persistent.

A unique aspect of YGGDRA is its collaborative Gardener's Library, which invites psychologists, coaches, therapists, and other professionals to contribute prompts that guide the AI in exploring specific nodes within the knowledge tree. Submissions must follow guidelines to ensure quality, originality, and user safety, including requirements for clear AI instructions, proper attribution for frameworks, and disclaimers for non-scientific methodologies or sensitive topics. This community-driven approach aims to enhance the depth and relevance of AI-guided self-exploration for all users.

YGGDRA is offered completely free of charge, with no licensing or subscription fees, and is positioned as a privacy-focused tool for personal development and self-understanding through AI-assisted knowledge mapping.
