CANITY

CANITY is a WordPress plugin that connects a site to a CANITY account through the Partner API. It enables the display of services, events, and packages on any page and addresses the need to integrate such content without manual copying or separate site maintenance.

The plugin provides a settings page located under Settings → CANITY where the Partner API token is entered. A shortcode in the form [canity type="services|events|packages"] renders lists while [canity_detail] handles detail pages. A dedicated Gutenberg block named “CANITY List” serves as a visual wrapper for the shortcode. Detail views can be embedded directly on the WordPress site as a modal, a dedicated page, or inline content, with support for deep links using the format canity-detail/{type}/{id}. By default clicks open the detail page on canity.de, and the booking button always directs users back to canity.de.

Responses from the API are automatically cached for 15 minutes using the Transients API to limit server load. Custom styling is available through namespaced CSS classes beginning with .canity-, which load only on pages where the plugin is used; this behavior can be disabled in the settings page where it is enabled by default. The plugin is delivered as a free downloadable extension from the official WordPress.org directory and installed through the standard WordPress plugin system.
