BLUE MARBLE HEALTH

Blue Marble Health is a preventive education project focused on promoting healthy, climate-friendly, and environmentally sustainable lifestyles among students, particularly those in grade 8 and above. Developed within the framework of education for sustainable development, the initiative aims to build competencies that help students understand the impact of their personal choices on both their own health and the environment. The project is grounded in the United Nations' Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

At the core of Blue Marble Health is an interactive companion app designed to support a four-part teaching series. The app provides explanatory videos, practical tips for consumption and behavior, daily and weekly tasks for integrating healthy and sustainable habits into everyday life, and recipe suggestions. These digital components are intended to motivate students to actively participate in lessons and reinforce what they learn through hands-on activities. The teaching materials and app are described as flexible and suitable for use across multiple subjects, including sports, where themes of movement and health are particularly emphasized.

The program targets both educators and students, equipping teachers with structured lesson plans and learners with digital tools to critically reflect on their lifestyles. Testimonials from participating schools highlight the program’s ability to engage students, encourage them to bring their prior knowledge into the classroom, and inspire them to adopt more environmentally conscious behaviors beyond the school context.
