Blockd

Blockd provides a studio for creating interactive onboarding journeys tailored for new hires. It enables managers to design onboarding experiences by composing stages and steps from modular blocks, which can include text, media, checklists, quizzes, forms, and introductions to team members. The tool is designed to help new employees progress through their first weeks with memorable, engaging content, and to ensure that onboarding journeys are actually completed.

A distinguishing feature of Blockd is its use of customizable experience themes. The same onboarding content can be presented in four different styles: a calm studio layout, a corkboard of sticky notes, an illustrated storybook, or a retro terminal interface. Managers can select the theme that best fits their team's culture or the preferences of the new hire, while the underlying content remains unchanged. Each step is delivered as a focused, interactive screen, with progress saved as the journey advances.

Blockd also incorporates AI-assisted drafting to streamline the creation of onboarding journeys. Managers can upload company handbooks or direct Blockd to crawl their website, allowing the AI to generate a draft journey based on the organization’s own documentation. These drafts are fully editable in the Studio, and nothing is assigned to new hires until it has been reviewed and approved. Progress tracking is built in, enabling managers to monitor who is moving through the onboarding process, what answers are given to quizzes or forms, and where individuals may be getting stuck, eliminating the need for status meetings.

The platform is accessible via web and requires users to sign in with GitHub to begin building onboarding journeys. It is positioned as a journey studio specifically for interactive onboarding, targeting managers and teams looking to improve the new hire experience with structured, trackable, and customizable onboarding content.
