The service ensures that each answer names its source and undergoes a licensing audit before being served, with only live and license-cleared corpora made available.

Users can query by country, regulatory framework, or sector, matching the same scopes available to AI clients. The platform supports national and EU-level content, with member states inheriting EU regulations and supervisory content. Sector-specific coverage includes areas such as IT and cloud security, AI governance, privacy and data protection, and more, with standards surfaced as requirement mappings rather than reproduced text. Premium features add access to case law and agency guidance.

Ansvar Open Law is delivered as a gateway that AI clients connect to via OAuth, routing requests to the appropriate servers based on jurisdiction and sector. The infrastructure comprises multiple clusters and servers, with content served directly from validated sources rather than generated by AI models. The platform is EU-hosted, with no tracking or cookie wall, and is designed to comply with privacy requirements. It covers both national and EU-level regulations, sector regulators, and security and threat intelligence domains, supporting requirements mapping to standards like ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, and others.
