LogDeck

LogDeck is an open-source dashboard and command-line interface for Docker and Podman. It addresses the need for unified visibility and control over container logs, resource usage, and management across multiple hosts without requiring external databases or per-host agents.

The tool delivers live log streaming that supports pause, auto-scroll, and timestamps while maintaining smooth performance with thousands of lines. Logs persist to a local store so that history remains available after restarts, rebuilds, or container removal. Users can set alerting rules for container deaths, out-of-memory kills, and specific log patterns, with notifications sent to webhooks that Slack and Discord accept directly. Full-text search, match navigation, log-level filters, and calendar-based time ranges enable efficient log exploration.

Multi-host support allows management of local, TCP, and SSH daemons from a single dashboard, presenting every container in one list. The system works with both Docker and Podman in rootless or rootful modes simultaneously. For compose stacks it provides start, stop, and restart operations along with merged timestamp-ordered logs from the entire stack. Resource monitoring shows live CPU and memory usage per container accompanied by sparklines for the most recent five minutes. Administrators can adjust memory limits, CPU limits, and restart policies on running containers without recreation or downtime.

A single binary includes the embedded frontend. The distribution also supplies a scriptable CLI client that produces JSON output. The project is hosted on GitHub and available for installation through its documented methods.
