TripSapien is a trip planning platform designed to create personalized itineraries using a database of verified, real-world places. It addresses the challenges of building accurate travel plans by checking each destination's hours, closures, and reservation requirements against the user's exact travel dates. The service allows users to paste any itinerary—whether from AI tools, blogs, messages, or personal notes—and automatically matches each entry to real locations, removing duplicates and supplementing with recommendations tailored to stated interests.

A key feature of TripSapien is its ability to organize day-by-day plans by neighborhood, grouping nearby sites for practical travel routes. The platform flags places that may be closed due to weekly schedules, public holidays, or temporary shutdowns, and highlights attractions that require advance booking or are likely to sell out during peak times. Users can see details such as visit length, reservation needs, and expected busy periods before finalizing their plans.

TripSapien integrates with Google Maps via a Chrome extension, enabling users to export their entire itinerary as a private, named list in their own Google account. Each location is added by its exact Google ID, ensuring accuracy and avoiding confusion with similarly named venues. The export process is handled locally in the user's browser, and nothing is sent outside of it.

The platform supports collaborative planning by allowing users to share an edit link so that multiple people can work together on the same trip. Its data sources include Google Places for opening hours, national calendars for public holidays, and Ticketmaster for event listings, all checked programmatically rather than relying on language model outputs.
