Intelligence API

Thisispaper Intelligence is a curated-taste API that provides search, similarity and taste metadata over 2,500-plus hand-selected architecture, design, photography and art projects. The service draws on two decades of editorial judgement from an independent art, architecture and design publication whose human editors have curated every project in the archive since 2011.

It exposes the catalog through a clean HTTP REST API and as a native Model Context Protocol server. The MCP endpoint operates as a remote, streamable HTTP, stateless server that allows Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents to query it directly. Nine tools are available through the server, including search_projects.

Access works in two modes. Anonymous calls require no key or signup yet are limited to five results. A free key providing 200 calls per month unlocks full results. Users obtain a key by adding an Authorization Bearer token or by having an agent call get_api_key during a conversation. The MCP server can be added to an AI client so the model queries the archive without writing HTTP requests.

A demonstration curl command shows a JSON-RPC call to the MCP endpoint at https://www.thisispaper.com/intelligence/api/mcp. The same endpoint supports direct integration by AI agents.
